PSC holds series of workshops in enhancing Presentation and Writing Skills

 

The Preparatory Studies Center (PSC) organized a series of workshops spearheaded by the Community Engagement Committee at F-Building, UTAS-Shinas Campus. The first one was entitled “Strategies for Crafting an Effective Resume” held on October 9–10, 2024. Mr. Basit Sultan Tanoli and Mr. Salim Al-Badi served as resource speakers. The workshop aimed to enhance participants' employability by addressing the diverse career goals and needs of the student community. Additionally, “Mastering the Craft of a Cover Letter” was conducted on November 6-7, 2024, which was also delivered by Mr. Basit. The workshop was designed for graduates, alumni, and students from the community. Lastly, “Enhancing Communication Through Effective Presentation Skills” was held on November 13-14, 2024. Mr. Basit Sultan Tanoli, Mr. Salim AlBadi and Ms. Hajer Al Ghuifaidi facilitated the session which attracted 95 participants, including students, community members, and alumni. Said workshops were focused on key aspects such as crafting professional resumes, highlighting individual skills and accomplishments, and tailoring resumes for specific job roles, overcoming stage fright, structuring presentations effectively, and mastering delivery techniques. Attendees actively participated, valuing the practical insights provided. Mr. Basit highlighted the significance of strong communication skills in today’s competitive environment and expressed satisfaction with the attendees’ enthusiasm. Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the workshop's relevance and impact on personal and professional growth. In acknowledgment of their efforts, all presenters were awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by Mr. Abdullah Al Balushi, Head of the Community Engagement Committee. UTAS-Shinas remains dedicated to hosting such enriching programs, ensuring its community is equipped with essential skills for success.
