Professional Certifications

The Training &Career Guidance Center, in collaboration with the Director of the Training Institute at Majan University, Ms. Ibtisam Al-Zaabi, held a working meeting on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The meeting was attended by members of the Training & Career Guidance Center team, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ahmed Al Balushi (Vice Chancellor of UTAS-Shinas Branch) in the Vice Chancellor’s office.
The meeting addressed discussions on professional certifications, which are regarded as an effective tool for improving job opportunities and increasing competitiveness in the labor market. These certifications help enhance professional reputation and build trust among employers.
Key Professional Certifications Discussed:
• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA):
A professional accounting body offering qualifications and certifications in accounting, auditing, taxation, and finance.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA):
This professional designation is provided by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). The CMA certification targets professionals in management accounting and financial management, demonstrating expertise in areas such as financial planning, analysis, control, decision support, and professional ethics. Earning the CMA typically requires passing two rigorous exams and meeting education and practical experience requirements.
• Certified Islamic Finance Executive (CIFE™):
A globally recognized certification endorsed by scholars, adhering to leading standards in Islamic finance. The CIFE™ program is an accelerated training and certification course designed to advance new trainees’ understanding of Islamic finance. It is offered in a semester-based format, lasting four weeks.
• Employment-Linked Training Program (NTF):
Coordinated with the Ministry of Labor, this program includes workshops and awareness lectures on professional certifications.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to exchange announcements for training courses, lectures, and workshops in the field of career guidance between the two institutions. Additionally, it was agreed to hold an educational lecture on the importance of professional certifications at the beginning of each academic semester.
