Project Proposal from DET got Approved for funding in IEEE TryEngineering STEM Grant Program 2026

The Department of Engineering and Technology is proud to announce that the project proposal, “Smart & Secure: AI-Powered Medical Diagnostics Without Data Sharing,” has been selected for funding under the prestigious IEEE TryEngineering STEM Grant Program 2026. The project was submitted under the leadership of Mr. Krishna Kumar Koyyala, representing the IEEE Oman Section, and has been awarded a funding amount of $1850 (USD). This grant is supported by the IEEE Signal Processing Society.

This recognition is highly significant, as the IEEE Educational Activities Committee received 465 applications globally, showcasing a wide range of innovative STEM outreach concepts. The proposal was selected as one of the top entries demonstrating exceptional creativity, innovation, and strong potential impact in promoting STEM education.

Through this achievement, the Department of Engineering and Technology continues to strengthen its commitment to advancing technology-driven education and empowering future innovators in alignment with IEEE's mission: Advancing Technology for Humanity.
