Certificate Distribution Ceremony Celebrates Graduates of Computerized Accounting Bridge Course

The Department of Economics and Business Administration proudly hosted the Certificate Distribution Ceremony for the Bridge Course in Computerized Accounting using Tally Prime and MS Excel on February 17, 2026, recognizing students and professionals who successfully completed the industry-oriented training program. The event highlighted the department’s commitment to equipping learners with practical, career-ready accounting skills aligned with current industry standards.

The ceremony was graced by Dr. Moza Mohammed Al-Shihi, Deputy of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, as Chief Guest. Distinguished speakers included Dr. Jofrelin Ines, Head of the Business Administration Department; Dr. Farhana Sultana Mohammed, Head of the Accounting & Finance Unit; and Dr. Suneel Kumar, Head of the Business Administration Unit. Their remarks emphasized the importance of professional certification programs in strengthening employability and enhancing technical competence among students.

Out of 54 enrolled participants, 44 successfully completed the course requirements, demonstrating strong commitment to skill development. The program attracted a diverse group of learners, including students from Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Bachelor’s programs, as well as alumni and professionals from other disciplines. A total of 30 participants, including students, alumni, and community members, attended the ceremony.

Organizers noted that some graduates from the previous semester were unable to attend due to ongoing training commitments. Aside from this, no issues affected the successful implementation of the event. Feedback was collected through a QR-code survey to support continuous improvement and identify additional skill-based training needs under the Accounting and Finance Unit.

The event also showcased inspiring success stories from program graduates. Saad Abdul Jaleel Mohammed Almurshidi secured employment at Oman Aviation Academy after completing the course, demonstrating the program’s direct impact on career advancement. Meanwhile, Al Waleed Khalid Al-Hinai shared how the course broadened his understanding of financial systems beyond his Mechanical Engineering specialization, contributing to his promotion as Mechanical Engineer and Internal Auditor (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) at Nama Water Services Company. He emphasized that learning outside one’s primary field opens new opportunities and strengthens professional growth.

In addition to celebrating achievements, organizers announced the launch of a new Bridge Course in Business Analytics and Data Mining using Orange Software, scheduled to begin after Ramadan. Students will be invited to register through an official link to be shared soon.

The successful completion of this program underscores the growing importance of skill-based, industry-relevant training that bridges academic learning with real-world professional demands. The Department of Economics and Business Administration reaffirmed its commitment to expanding such initiatives to empower learners, enhance employability, and foster lifelong learning.
