DBA conducts 2nd International Students’ Quiz Bee Competition

The Department of Business Administration organized the final round of the 2nd International Students’ Quiz Bee Competition on 22 April 2024, held at the Conference Room, Main Building, UTAS- Shinas Campus. Dr. Moza Ali Al Shihi, the Deputy to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, extended her best wishes to the participating teams and organizers in her welcome address. Ms. Nithya Samabamoorthy, Head of Marketing, commended all the participating teams from around the world, especially those from India, Oman, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Saad Abdul Jaleel Mohammed Al-Marshadi, the President of the Student Council, outlined the objectives of the event and motivated all the participants. Mr. Subhash Kodiyil Raman, a member of the organizing team, provided guidelines and instructions for the final round, including details of the prize money for the winners and runners-up. Mr. Narsaiah Lakkavatri, the convener of the organizing team and the quiz moderator, welcomed the teams and announced that cameras would be on throughout the quiz session. He also ensured the judges were ready to record scores and commenced the final round at 10:45 AM. Dr. Cirilo Mirano, another member of the organizing team, was responsible for displaying quiz questions on the live screen while the moderator read them. Teams displayed their answer options on the screen, which were evaluated and recorded by judges. Scores were announced at the end of each level, with leading teams highlighted. In the final level, Success Point College/Arden University Team from the UAE emerged as the top team with 45 points/winner, followed by UTAS-Ibra with 44 points/1st runner-up, AIMCA Team-India with 41 points/2nd runner-up, and UTAS-Ibri & UTAS-Al Musannah Teams with 35 points each. Dr. Sibi John summarized the entire competition proceedings and applauded the teams' performances. The event concluded smoothly and successfully, with Ms. Nithya extending a vote of thanks to all participants, the organizing and managing teams, judges, Heads of Units (HoUs), Accounting, Ms. Iman Rabia Al Rubai, HRM, Dr. Suneel Kumar, HoD-DBA Ms. Khadija Al Issaei, Dr. Moza Ali Al Shihi, the Deputy to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, and the Vice Chancellor of UTAS-Shinas for their continuous support and motivation throughout the event.
