PSC lecturer holds workshop on mastering Moodle

Mr. Abdallah Ali Al Balushi, Preparatory Studies Center (PSC) lecturer, held a workshop entiled ‘Mastering Moodle: Unleashing the Power of Online Learning’ on 4th April 2024, at F-035, PSC Building. The session aimed to equip attendees (especially, the new teachers) with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively utilize Moodle for creating engaging online learning experiences. It also provided an in-depth exploration into the functionalities and capabilities of Moodle, an open-source learning management system widely used for online education. Moreover, it was focused on creating courses within Moodle. Attendees learned how to structure course content, incorporate multimedia elements, and design activities and assessments to foster student engagement and learning outcomes. Best practices for organizing course materials and resources were also discussed. The attendees actively participated in hands-on activities and exercises designed to reinforce learning objectives. Practical demonstrations and guided tutorials enabled participants to navigate the Moodle interface, create course content, enroll users and explore various features firsthand. Participants expressed their appreciation for the practical insights and actionable strategies provided during the workshop. Many highlighted the relevance of the content to their roles as educators and instructional designers, noting the value of mastering Moodle in the context of online learning delivery. Said workshop was organized by the Staff Support Development Team (SPDT) under the Staff Support Committee (SSC) of the Center.
