The General Requirements Unit plays an important role in supporting students’ academic development and preparing them for future pathways beyond university.
Through our current courses—English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Technical Writing (TW), and Public Speaking (PS)—students are supported in developing clear communication, critical thinking, and confi-dence in expressing their ideas.
The focus is on effective communication, reflective and technical writing, and academic note-taking strategies that support students in progressing through their studies and preparing for future careers within a supportive and engaging learning environment.
There is a strong commitment to further strengthening the role of employability within teaching and the curriculum, with the aim of supporting students in becoming capable, confident graduates who can contribute meaningfully to Oman’s future.
