News article on Academic Integrity Session: “Working Together Ethically: Integrity in Group Projects”

Examination committee of Department of Economics and Business Administration (DEBA) organized a workshop titled “Working Together Ethically: Integrity in Group Projects” for students enrolled in project-based courses on 23rd February,2026. The session was organized by Dr. Geeta Thakur, Exam Coordinator, DEBA, as part of the department’s initiative to strengthen academic integrity practices among students.
The resource person for the session was Dr. Preeti Bhaskar from the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), delivered an insightful and practical presentation on ethical collaboration in group projects, emphasizing responsibility, accountability, and transparency.
A major highlight of the session was the introduction of the RACI Matrix (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed), which provided students with a clear framework for defining roles within project teams. Through practical examples and interactive discussion, students understood how structured role allocation can prevent free-riding, reduce conflicts, and ensure fairness in assessment.
The session witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in meaningful discussions and reflected on real academic project scenarios. The program concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of integrity, teamwork, and professional ethics in academic settings.
