Mendeley Software Training

The Department of Supportive Requirements at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), Shinas, successfully organized a professional development software training titled “Mendeley Software” on Tuesday, December 9th , 2025. The event, held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Room No.218 of the Main Building, was coordinated by the Staff Professional Development and Student Support Committee (SPDSS) as part of its ongoing initiatives to enhance faculty research competence and uphold ethical academic standards. The workshop featured an insightful session by Dr. Seku Kondaiah, Senior Lecturer Department of Supportive Requirement -Science and Mathematics Unit.
During the session, Dr. Seku provided valuable insights into the utilization of the Mendeley Reference Manager style serves as a transformative tool for faculty members, streamlining the technical rigors of scholarly writing through automated citation and bibliography management. By leveraging Mendeley’s extensive library of Citation Style Language (CSL), educators can seamlessly transition between diverse academic formats—such as APA, IEEE, or Elsevier—with a single click, ensuring strict adherence to journal-specific guidelines. Furthermore, its integration as a collaborative platform allows faculty to curate shared repositories of research papers, where PDF annotations and synchronized metadata facilitate a more organized, efficient, and peer-reviewed approach to departmental research and curriculum development.
The workshop was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Sulaiman Al Raisi, Head of the Department of Supportive Requirements. The program was coordinated by Mr. Khursheed Akhter Ansari, Committee Coordinator, along with active support from committee members Dr Asim. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth execution and success of the event.
