Department of Economics and Business Administration, CEBA, UTAS Shinas Gearing Up for New PG Programs

In a significant move to launch its new suite of postgraduate studies, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) Shinas is gearing up for its highly anticipated MBA and MSc Customs and Taxation programs. The postgraduate programs are led by Dr. Joefrelin C. Ines, Head of the Department of Economics and Business Administration (DEBA), who heads the team responsible for the programs' offering and implementation. Dr. Suneel Kumar, Head of Unit for Business Administration, has been nominated as the Academic Program Coordinator for the MBA. Simultaneously, Dr. Farhana Sultana, Head of Unit for Accounting and Finance, will serve as the Academic Program Coordinator for the MSc Customs and Taxation. These strategic appointments are central to the development and delivery of the programs, which are designed to address the evolving needs of Oman's economy.
A robust team of experienced faculty has been assembled to deliver the first semester's courses. The MBA program will be taught by Dr. Joefrelin Ines, Dr. Suneel Kumar, Dr. Geeta Thakur, and Dr. Shazia Kausar. The MSc Customs and Taxation will feature instruction from Dr. Farhana Sultana, Dr. Muhammed Imthiyaz, Dr. Minu Thomas, and Dr. Cirilo E. Mirano Jr. The development process has been a collaborative effort across the university, beginning with benchmarking meetings with UTAS Al Musannah, initiated by Dr. Ahmed Al Balushi, Assistant Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Nasser Hamr Al Katheri, Dean of the College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA). With the full backing of university leadership, including endorsement from Dr. Kawthar Al Ajmi, the DAVPGSSRI, these new programs mark a major step in UTAS Shinas's commitment to providing industry-relevant, high-quality postgraduate education.
