To produce competent graduates who are core members of teams responsible for successful project delivery and who apply their engineering skills to accurately evaluate construction projects in contribution to the national economy and social wellbeing while maintaining high ethical standards.

 

 

The program should enable the students to:

 

  •  Uphold high standards of ethics in their work and conduct.
  •  Apply the latest industry-standard quantity surveying, cost engineering practices including using the required planning, tracking and management tools to enable successful project delivery through application of the relevant laws and regulations.
  •  Communicate effectively in English in all relevant situations.
  •  Practice high levels of organisation time management skills to achieve targets.
  •  Function independently and in a collaborative environment to ensure project success.
  •  Pursue research, training and higher studies to further develop their competencies.

 

The graduates will have the ability to:

 

  •  Apply the relevant ethical practices in their work.
  •  Analyse the drawings, specifications, construction materials, components, services,and processes commonly used in projects as well as the concept of load transfer in buildings.
  •  Develop bills of quantities for projects including relevant services and supporting works using traditional methods as well as industry-standard software packages.
  •  Demonstrate an awareness of the contractual and management practices involved in construction projects.
  •  Show sufficient English competency to present technical ideas in their profession.
  •  Apply their organisation and time management skills.
  •  Work autonomously on tasks as well as part of a team.
