The program should enable the students to:

 

  •  Gain advanced knowledge of handling satellite images, aerial photographs and software tools for conducting research.
  •  Make innovative decisions to solve complex geodetic surveying problems in a practical context.
  •  Demonstrate research-oriented tasks in various applications of Remote sensing and GIS domain.
  •  Become consultants on various engineering problems related to water resources engineering, spatial planning, transportation engineering and environmental engineering.
  •  Developing and publishing cutting-edge technology in emerging areas in geo spatial technology.
  •  Develop ability to participate in independent and lifelong learning to improve and address economic development of the nation.
  •  Work individually or as part of a team on multi-disciplinary engineering projects.

 

The graduates will have the ability to:

 

  •  Conduct investigation of natural resources management issues including literature survey, formulating methodology, analysis and synthesis of data to provide legal conclusions.
  •  To be professional, innovative and dedicated contributors to the national economy in the field of natural resources and spatial management.
  •  Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and develop the practical skills to participate in multi-disciplinary national and international research projects.
  •  Ability to achieve mastery in training and research in the field of modern surveying.
  •  Demonstrate knowledge and management skills in business practices to become a successful entrepreneur.
  •  Understand the professional ethics and responsibilities of modern surveying techniques and to contribute to the society for sustainable development.
  •  Develop object-oriented programming skills.

 

Allotment to the Architecture Engineering specialisation is based on the CGPA scored by the student in First Year Diploma. Requirements to progress to Advanced Diploma in Architectural Engineering:

 

  •  Students must complete Advanced Diploma in Architectural Engineering successfully with CGPA ≥ 2.75 on a scale of 4.
  •  IELTS band Score ≥ 5 or the FDL Mark should be ≥ 71.
  •  Lateral entry of students is governed by UTAS bylaws.
