Train the students for a career as Geo spatial professionals with high level of expertise in the date collection, processing, analysing, and managing the geo spatial data. As well as to develop the students in cadastral surveying to demonstrate their knowledge to support national and local surveying authorities.

 

 

The program should enable the students to:

 

  •  Improve the student’s capacity building in geospatial industries and information technology that meets the needs of Oman.
  •  Develop the ability to collect the geospatial related date and analyse the data for community benefits.
  •  Develop the problem-solving ability in the various multidisciplinary projects in remote sensing and GIS.
  •  Professional ability to use photogrammetric drones and to apply that knowledge in country level projects.
  •  Provide sound knowledge in preparing thematic maps using software tools by applying proper cartographic rules.
  •  Develop the ability to participate in independent and lifelong learning.

 

The graduates will have the ability to:

 

  •  Acquire the ability to map and develop applications in geo spatial fields to analyse and write reports.
  •  Ability to work on multidisciplinary problem-solving teams.
  •  Acquire the knowledge to recognize, communicate and resolve the geomatics and remote sensing related problems.
  •  Secure knowledge on drone technology and its applications.
  •  Understanding the impact of spatial information technology in society.
  •  Acquire independent knowledge to solve contemporary issues.
  •  Proficient in self-learning skills and clearly understand the professional and ethical responsibilities.
  •  Perform a boundary survey and preparation of a plot using appropriate standards and laws.

 

Allotment to the Architecture Engineering specialisation is based on the CGPA scored by the student in First Year Diploma. Requirements to progress to Advanced Diploma in Architectural Engineering:

 

  •  Students must complete a Diploma in Architecture Engineering successfully with CGPA ≥ 2.5 on a scale of 4.
  •  IELTS band Score ≥4.5 or the FDL Mark should be ≥ 64.
