Provide high quality education and training in the field of Civil Engineering that will enhance the student’s knowledge, creativity and technical skills and enable him/her to communicate effectively, to be technically competent and provide solutions for basic Civil Engineering problems, practices and increase their employability skills to suit the current market situation.

 

The program also enables the graduate to function in interdisciplinary areas of Civil Engineering, ethical practices and increase their employability skills to suit the current market situation.

 

 

The program should enable the students to:

The graduates will have the ability to:

 

  •  Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Science and Engineering fundamentals for development of Civil Engineering models.
  •  Identify, formulate and solve Civil Engineering problems, with the help of literature, principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.
  •  Apply the knowledge of Engineering materials, methods of construction, theory of structures, and design of concrete and steel structures, to gain a strong background in the area of Civil engineering.
  •  Work individually or collaboratively as part of a team and use substantial technical skills appropriate to his/her knowledge and skills gained.
  •  Work in multi-disciplinary sustainable projects for the benefit of the society with professional ethics.

Allotment to the Mechanical Engineering specialisation is based on the CGPA scored by the student in First Year Diploma. Requirements to progress to Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering:

 

  •  Students must complete a Diploma in Civil Engineering successfully with CGPA ≥ 2.5 on a scale of 4.
  •  IELTS band Score ≥4.5 or the FDL Mark should be ≥ 64.
