It is focused on developing individual potential and applying a high level of skills for achieving the qualities of goal setting, decision making, problem finding proof and fathoming interpersonal relationships and correspondence.

This program aims to:

 

  •  Apply accounting standards, rules and regulations.
  •  Attain advanced knowledge and skills in the area of cost accounting, Taxation, Foreign exchange, Accounting standards, management accounting and performance management.
  •  Develop skills in using accounting software, spreadsheet and other preparing financial statements.
  •  Conduct research on accounting and business problems and generate new knowledge.
  •  Utilize critical thinking in solving accounting and business problems by using decision making and financial tools.
  •  Demonstrate ethical and professional judgement, and recommend an appropriate course of action.
  •  Create composed, brief business investigations, and convey clear, efficient, convincing oral introductions.

 

On completion of the program, the student should be able to:

 

  •  Demonstrate advanced specialized knowledge of concepts, theories, and principles in the areas of financial accounting, management, auditing, taxation and performance management with consideration for ethical principles and international financial reporting standards.
  •  Explain financial accounting, the development of international accounting standards, and current measurement issues, ethics, intangibles, extractive industries, foreign currency translation.
  •  Develop the students’ competence in preparing financial statements and making disclosures in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
  •  Prepare audit reports applying the generally accepted auditing standards and procedures for applying audit tests.
  •  Employ knowledge of tax implications and its assessment for companies and dealing with financial analysis techniques to evaluate business opportutniess and make investments decision.
  •  Apply ideas and techniques about management accounting, performance management, and decision-making areas.
  •  Conduct specialized accounting research to assess business issues, and generate new knowledge.
  •  Communicate effectively financial information in verbal and written format using communication technology skills.

 

Passing all requirements of the UTAS Advanced Diploma Accounting Program and scoring a level GPA of 2.75.out of 4.00
