An educational awareness campaign under the slogan “Our Children in Light of Contemporary Changes” at the Utas-Sur

The Omani Women’s Association in Sur launched the educational awareness campaign under the slogan “Our Children in Light of Contemporary Changes”, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police and the General Department for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances.

          The event at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sur included holding an awareness event on the harms of drugs, with the aim of raising the level of awareness among members of society, through the presence of the mobile awareness bus, which witnessed a large turnout from university employees and students, to view its content and learn about the efforts to combat and address the scourge of drugs, as The awareness team educated employees and students about the dangers of the drug scourge, and introduced them to narcotic substances and psychotropic substances, and the contagious and sometimes fatal diseases that result from their users. The team also explained the contents and indicative and awareness-raising exhibits, answered the questions and inquiries of the attendees, and distributed brochures to them. The visiting team encouraged them to cooperate, submit reports, and introduce them to the toll-free hotline 1444 of the General Administration for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

The implementation of these activities is part of awareness programs aimed at raising the level of awareness in society and introducing the harmful effects of drugs and psychotropic substances.
