Pharmacy Department participated in an Awareness Event on the Use of Antibiotics

By invitation from the University of Nizwa, the Pharmacy Department at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat participated in an awareness event on the use of antibiotics, held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. The event took place in AL - Hazm Hall at the University of Nizwa under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Health Sciences and was organized by the Pharmacy Association at the University of Nizwa.

The event included various programs, including a presentation of the results of a survey on the awareness of Nizwa University students regarding the proper use of antibiotics, with a focus on intelligent usage. Additionally, there was a lecture on communication skills for pharmacists and raising community awareness about the correct use of antibiotics. Following this, the accompanying exhibition was inaugurated, featuring the participation of pharmacy department students and the Tiryaq team.

Two lecturers, Tiryaq team supervisor, and fifteen students from the Pharmacy Department participated in this event, with the presence of the department's head, Dr. Mona Al Juma. Representatives from the department conducted a field visit to the facilities of the College of Health Sciences and the Center for Natural and Medical Sciences Research.

بدعوة من جامعة نزوى شارك قسم الصيدلة في جامعة التقنية والعلوم التطبيقية بمسقط في فعالية التوعية حول استخدام المضادات الحيوية، وذلك يوم الأربعاء الموافق 15 نوفمبر 2023. انطلقت فعاليات هذا الحدث في قاعة الحزم في جامعة نزوى تحت رعاية عميد كلية العلوم الصحية وبتنظيم من جماعة الصيدلة بجامعة نزوى.

تضمنت الفعالية العديد من البرامج، بما في ذلك عرض نتائج دراسة استقصائية حول وعي طلاب جامعة نزوى في الاستخدام السليم للمضادات الحيوية والتركيز على الاستخدام الذكي لها. بالإضافة إلى محاضرة في مهارات التواصل للصيادلة وتعزيز وعي المجتمع في الاستخدام الصحيح للمضادات الحيوية. وبعدها تم افتتاح المعرض المصاحب للفعالية والذي شارك فيه طلبة قسم الصيدلة وجماعة ترياق.

شارك في هذا الحدث من قسم الصيدلة محاضرين اثنان ومشرف جماعة ترياق وخمسة عشر طالبًا وطالبة، وبحضور رئيسة القسم الدكتورة منى آل جمعة. وقد قام ممثلو القسم بزيارة ميدانية لمرافق كلية العلوم الصحية، ومركز أبحاث العلوم الطبيعية والطبية.
