Planning and Development Department

Planning and Development Department is a key unit within the university, responsible for enhancing institutional performance by proposing future policies and plans, monitoring their implementation, and evaluating outcomes in coordination with various departments. The Directorate contributes to the advancement of academic, administrative, and technical aspects of the university through conducting studies, statistical surveys, identifying current and future needs and priorities in alignment with the university’s vision, mission, and goals. It also oversees the development of strategic plans, risk management policies, and emergency preparedness plans.

The Department comprises four main sections:

  1. Planning Section: Responsible for preparing long-term strategic plans and annual operational plans, translating them into actionable programs, contributing to budget preparation, and evaluating planning proposals submitted by various university units.
  2. Studies and Statistics Section: Focuses on collecting and analyzing statistical data, deriving performance indicators, issuing annual reports, and conducting research studies that support decision-making and performance enhancement. It also designs surveys and ensures accurate sampling and data analysis.
  3. Follow-Up and Development Section: Oversees the implementation of approved plans through periodic reports on institutional performance, proposes procedural improvements and simplifications, and contributes to developing stakeholder satisfaction surveys and suggesting necessary enhancements to improve service quality.
  4. Risk Management Section: Handles the identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks associated with university activities. It develops appropriate emergency plans, raises awareness on workplace risks, trains staff on risk management, and ensures that risk control policies are up-to-date and aligned with national frameworks.

Through these sections, the Planning and Development Department plays a strategic role in future foresight, performance improvement, and data-driven decision-making, supporting the university’s sustainability and institutional excellence.
