Meeting of the induction week committee for the new academic year at University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sur
The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sur is preparing to receive 317 male and female students distributed across three majors: information technology, mass communication, and applied biotechnology for the new academic year 2023/2024 AD.
From this standpoint, the main committee for the introductory week at the university branch held a meeting, headed by Dr. Rashid bin Nasser Al-Matani, Assistant President of the University in Sur, and in the presence of committee members. The meeting began with a welcoming speech from Dr. the Dean to begin a new academic year full of achievements and high aspirations, praying to God that the efforts and successes be crowned with success, God willing. Then, the most prominent items from the committee’s agenda were discussed, which included preparations for receiving new students admitted for the academic year 2023/2024 AD.
The meeting also discussed the means and arrangements related to employing and exploiting them optimally in receiving new students, and how to proceed according to an integrated weekly program and implement it in its entirety according to the plan prepared and compatible with the same matter, and preparing the university’s facilities for that.
In this regard, Dr. Rashid bin Nasser Al-Matani, Assistant to the President of the University in Sur, said that the university has completed preparations to receive its new students by providing appropriate places. The doctor explained that the introductory meetings enable the students to become acquainted with university life, create an atmosphere for acquaintance and communication with the students, and learn about the plans. The study sessions will continue for an entire week. Emphasizing the importance of students’ commitment to attending all activities of the induction program in order to achieve a better understanding of the components of the university environment.
The introductory week is scheduled to begin on Sunday, September 10, and will continue until Thursday, September 14. The academic year for all students will begin on Sunday, September 17, 2023 AD. The induction week will be accompanied by placement tests in English, mathematics and computer skills.
