UTAS Conducts Outreach Program at Future Pioneers International School

The Department of Economics and Business Administration successfully conducted a Community Outreach Program at Future Pioneers International School, held under the inspiring theme “A Commitment to Serve, A Passion to Empower.” This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing community engagement series that aims to foster social awareness, knowledge sharing, and sustainable development.
The program sought to bridge the gap between academia and the community by bringing valuable knowledge and life skills directly to students. It featured three highly engaging and informative sessions designed to address vital aspects of personal and professional growth — Mental Health, Public Speaking, and Financial Literacy.
Each session was led by distinguished faculty members who shared their expertise with energy and compassion:
- • Dr. Jeannette Ong Ee-Lyn delivered an enlightening talk on Mental Health, emphasizing the importance of emotional well-being, stress management, and positive coping mechanisms among youth.
- • Ms. Aminah Abd Razak captivated the audience with an interactive workshop on Public Speaking, empowering students to communicate confidently and effectively in academic and professional settings.
- • Dr. Maria Carmen Lontok Vidal rounded off the program with an engaging discussion on Financial Literacy, equipping participants with practical insights on managing finances, saving wisely, and building responsible money habits from a young age.
The sessions were met with enthusiastic participation from students and teachers alike, sparking meaningful conversations and reflections on personal growth and community responsibility.
Dr. Mohammed Ali, Head of the Department of Economics and Business Administration, commended the team for their dedication to service learning and their commitment to extending the university’s educational mission beyond the campus. “Outreach initiatives like this embody our department’s vision of holistic education — empowering individuals to become catalysts for positive change in society,” he shared.
Through this continuing series of community programs, the department reaffirms its pledge to nurture well-rounded citizens who not only excel academically but also contribute meaningfully to the wider community.
