Art of Publishing Research Articles

The Professional Development Committee (PDC) team of Engineering/UTAS-Nizwa, organized a seminar titled “Art of Publishing Research Articles” on 4th November 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Mahmoud Arafat Abdelhamid Ibrahim, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology,UTAS-Nizwa. Dr.Fakrudeen, PDC team coordinator of Engineering Department was the moderator for the session.

The session began with an welcome speech by Mr.Taufeeq, the engineering department's PDC Team member. The resource person was introduced to the participants by engineering department's PDC Team member, Dr.Shaista.

The seminar aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the scientific research and publication process, focusing on the essential stages from idea generation to manuscript submission and peer review. Dr. Mahmoud highlighted key aspects such as formulating strong research questions, maintaining research integrity, avoiding plagiarism, selecting suitable journals, and effectively responding to reviewers’ comments.

The engaging session combined theoretical insights with practical guidance, emphasizing teamwork, ethics, and reproducibility in research. Participants gained valuable knowledge and tools to improve the quality and impact of their scholarly work. The event reflected UTAS-Nizwa’s continued commitment to fostering research excellence and professional growth among faculty members and researchers.

The session ended with vote of thanks by Mr.Prashant, member of engineering PDC team.
