Department of Economics and Business Administration Welcomes New Trainees with Inspiring Orientation Program

 

The Department of Economics and Business Administration held an Orientation Program for new trainees on October 30, 2025, organized by the Professional Development Team under the guidance of Dr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed Obaid, DEBA, Nizwa, Head of Department. The session aimed to introduce trainees to the department’s structure, committees, and professional culture.

Dr. Mohammed Ali opened the program with a warm welcome and an overview of departmental policies, programs, and standards. Ms. Turkiya Al Busaidi, Head of Unit of the Marketing and Logistics Specialization section, shared valuable insights on professional conduct and expectations.

Committee Coordinators—Dr. Paul Sundar (Community Services), Dr. Sangeetha T.R. (PG and Research), Mr. Muruga Prakash (Academic Affairs), Dr. Muhammed Mudasir (Student Support), and Ms. Kavitha Rajan with Dr. Vikram Mohite (Quality Assurance)—presented their key roles, initiatives, and ongoing projects.

The Professional Development Team encouraged all committees to finalize detailed orientation plans, supported by mentors Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Dr. Vikram Mohite, and Mr. Sibi Abraham Chacho.

The program successfully fostered awareness and enthusiasm among the new trainees. Throughout the semester, they will continue to engage in structured sessions and mentoring activities designed to strengthen their integration into the department’s academic and professional community.
