Training Program on “Library Induction"

The CEBA Muscat branch organized a training program on “LIBRARY INDUCTION”. This training program was presented by Dr H Kalilur Rahman, Librarian, Muscat Branch. The main theme of this training is to guide the faculties to use the resources and services available in the library.  The Venue, Date and Time of the training is on the 6thth of April, 12 PM to 1 PM through Teams.

Dr H Kalilur Rahman started the session with the brief introduction about the resources and services available in the library. And, he focused the following points during the session.

• List of available books in the Library.
• Usage of Library book catalogue
• Reserving books and its advantages.
• Searching books in Masader, how many pages can be downloaded in a day, how to view the citation and the usage of permalink for sharing the contents.
• Ways of searching journal articles.
• Translating materials into preferred language.
• Advance search by using key words.
• EBook – EBSCOHOST – all databases suggested by Masader will appear in EBSCOHOST.
• To watch video in EBSCO platform.
• How to create alert for the preferred topics.
• Difference between basic search and Advance search.

The session was informative. Questions were raised by the faculties and the doubts are clarified. To conclude, Dr H. Kalilur Rahman presented the training in an effective way which definitely enrich the knowledge on using UTAS Library.
