An Introduction To Design Thinking

The CEBA Muscat branch organized a workshop on “An Introduction to Design Thinking”. This workshop was presented by Dr Azza Al Busaidi, Senior Lecturer, CEBA Muscat and Ms Juhaina AL Aisari, Lecturer, CEBA Muscat. The main theme of this workshop is to gain expertise knowledge in design thinking and to gain a new perspective on problem solving. The Venue, Date and Time of the workshop is on the 21st of September 2023 at 12.30 PM to 1. 30 PM in Creativity Room. Ms Juahina started the session with the brief introduction about design thinking, how to generate idea, doing project using design thinking and the impact in the organization. And she focused on the following points: Ø Evolution of Design thinking. Ø Why Design thinking is significant Ø Five Phases of Design thinking as Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Ø Design thinking tools or techniques like White board apps, Mural, Idea step and so on … Dr Azza started a practical session of design thinking, she gave a vibrant note that Design Sprint can be implemented in many concepts, projects almost in all fields. And she focused on: Ø Design Sprint is a framework for answering critical business questions Ø Design Sprint and its Phases, understand, diverge, decide, prototype and validate. Ø Framework to support divergent and convergent thinking Ø And a practical session was organized to come up with an idea, to define, ideate and to find solution. The session was informative and effective. Questions were raised by the faculties and the doubts are clarified. To conclude, Dr Azza and Ms Juhaina presented the session in an effective and Positive way, this will help the faculties to practice design thinking in pedagogical approaches to innovate, solve problem in a create and collaborative way.
