Business Studies Department - Basics of SEM Using Amos (Level-1)

The CEBA Muscat branch organized a workshop on “Basics of SEM using Amos (Level – 1)”. This workshop was presented by Dr S. Porkodi, Lecturer, CEBA Muscat. The main theme of this workshop is to carry on research analysis using Amos software. The Venue, Date and Time of the workshop is on the 19th of October 2023 at 12 PM to 2 PM at BS26, CEBA.

Dr Porkodi started the session with a brief introduction about the AMOS software, and how it helps in analyzing research. And she focused on the following points:

•  Structured equation model – multivariate 2nd generation
•  Terminology for SEM & AMOS
•  Overview of SEM analysis
•  Path Analysis
•  Measuring latent variable, Reflective measurement and Formative measurement
•  Path model notations
•  Recursive and Non-recursive model
•  Conventions in linear regressions
•  How to use the tools and plugin in Amos software
•  How to analyze and get standardized output using AMOS.
•  Structured equation model for testing
•  Model fit and classification of fit measures.
•  Assessing the model fit

The session was informative and effective. Questions were raised by the faculties and the doubts are clarified. To conclude, Dr Porkodi presented the session in an effective way, this will enhance the knowledge among the faculties to analyze the research using AMOS software.
