Civil & Architectural Engineering Section

CAE HOS

The Civil and Architectural Engineering section is one of the three sections within the Department of Engineering at the Higher College of Technology in Muscat. It was established in 2003 and began admitting students at various engineering levels.

The section offers a dynamic environment for undergraduate study, supported by engaging educational and research projects that cover a wide range of modern applications. It consists of four main programs:

  •  Civil Engineering
  •  Architectural Engineering;
  •  Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering
  •  Land Surveying.

These programs currently offer four distinct undergraduate degrees Bachelor of Technology, Higher Diploma, Diploma and Certificate in their respective areas. Each of the above mentioned programs has its own missions and objectives in the broader domain of the section, which are presented in their respective pages.

The mission of the Civil and Architectural Engineering section is to prepare students for life-long careers as professional engineers. It aims to provide students with the academic foundation needed to pursue advanced studies leading to higher degrees and to supply employers and the Sultanate of Oman with well-educated, technically proficient graduates. These graduates are equipped to contribute to the construction industry (covering architectural, civil, and construction engineering technologies) and address challenges faced by both the public and private sectors.
