This program aims to equip students with a range of knowledge and skills in the main functional areas of business. It focuses on technical knowledge and expertise with a view to a career in financial technology specialization. Graduates of this program are to acquire a variety of skills needed by both public and private institutions as well as being entrepreneurs and investors.

 

Upon completion of the program, the graduates will be able to:

 

  •  Discuss the financial knowledge in making investment decisions.
  •  Apply the principle underlying the valuation of investments
  •  Differentiate between conventional and Islamic Finance products and operations.
  •  Demonstrate the importance of blockchain and electronic currencies, bitcoin and cryptocurrency in the context of fintech.

  •  Apply accounting applications such as creating and maintaining the company information, preparing ledgers, and presenting financial statements using accounting software like Tally Prime.
  •  Identify the concept of the time value of money and its applications
  •  Explain revenue and capital receipts related to the budget, and fiscal and monetary policy to manage the budget of the economy.
  •  Determine working capital techniques to effectively manage cash, accounts receivables, accounts payable and inventories using both manual and excel based approaches.
  •  Apply capital budgeting techniques including the payback period, net present value, internal rate of return and accounting rate of return of investment projects.

The Advanced Diploma in Financial Technology (FinTech) is designed to prepare graduates for a career in finance with a focus in technologies. In addition to the specialized technical knowledge and skills of finance, the graduate will gain an understanding of the technologies that affect finance and financial services.
