UTAS-Nizwa Students Shine at Innovation Competition 2026

Students from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Nizwa showcased their creativity, innovation, and teamwork during the Innovation Competition 2026 held on April 20, 2026, at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Ibra. Competing against various student teams, UTAS-Nizwa participants demonstrated outstanding performance and brought pride to the university by securing 3rd Place in two major competition categories: InovAI and Finance Nexus.

The Finance Nexus team was composed of students Al Khansa Abdullah Mohammed Al-Hinaai, Mariam Abdullah Salim Al-Sulaimani, and Layali Sulaiman Khalfan Al-Harasi under the supervision of Ms. Maria Carmen. Their achievement reflected strong analytical thinking and innovative financial problem-solving skills.

Meanwhile, the InovAI team, represented by Noor Al Maskari and Safiya Hamood Al Harrasi under the supervision of Mr. Premkumar Arul, impressed the judges with their creative and technology-driven ideas, earning another 3rd Place finish for UTAS-Nizwa.

Other participating teams also represented the university with excellence and enthusiasm. The FutureHR team, supervised by Ms. Kavitha Rajan, included Mawadah Khalifa Hamed Al Hattali, Al Ghalia Saif Amour Al Aamri, and Hedaya Khalid Mohammed Al Tamimi. The Guerilla Genius team, supervised by Mr. Elbert Bryan, consisted of Zainab Ali Said Al-Busaidi and Zuwaina Ahmed Al-Swafi.

The participation and accomplishments of the students highlight UTAS-Nizwa’s commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and experiential learning among its students.
