UTAS-ITD Students Educational Tour to MADAYN

December 12, 2023: The ICLC committee – ITD arranged an educational trip to Madayn in Nizwa for 19 IT students who showed interest. Mr. Nasser Hamed Al Kindi, Director of Investors Services, warmly welcomed the students and delivered an exceptional presentation detailing Madayn, its goals, facilities, and initiatives.

Madayn, officially known as the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, was established in 1993 as a government entity with the purpose of developing and overseeing industrial cities throughout Oman. Its primary focus is to encourage private sector involvement in manufacturing, thereby stimulating economic progress within the nation.

Presently, Madayn oversees ten industrial cities located in Sur, Suhar, Raysut, Nizwa, Al Buraimi, Al Rusayl, Samail, Ibri, Al Mudhaibi, Mahas, alongside Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) and Al Mazunah Free Zone. Madayn Nizwa alone has leased out 2 million square meters of space to industries such as ceramics, plastics, medical products, plywood, tea packaging, mineral water, water tanks, ferrous casting, oil services, and food products.

The presentation lasted approximately an hour. The students were very impressed by the services offered by Madayn. The trip provided a comprehensive understanding of the diverse opportunities available in Oman for establishing various types of industries."
