Engineering Students' Industrial Visit to International Drilling Technology Company: Bridging Academia and Industry

The Engineering Department of University of Technical and Applied Sciences- Nizwa arranged a visit to the International Drilling Technology Company in Taimsa, Nizwa on 26/09/2024. The purpose was to educate Oil and Gas students about drilling rigs and their components, as well as how they operate in the field. 24 students and 2 faculty members participated in the visit. Dr. Mohammad Ismail Iqbal prepared the students with PPE items and an HSE induction workshop before the tour. Students were split into two groups led by company managers, and they explained various components of the drilling rig. The visit enhanced students' understanding of the oil and gas industry, and they appreciated the opportunity provided by the organizers. The visit ended around 2:30 PM.
