Innovate with Raspberry Pi : Ideas to Projects

A training session titled "Innovate with Raspberry Pi: Ideas to Projects" was conducted on May 6, 2025 by the PDC team of the Engineering Department at UTAS-Nizwa. Dr. Fakrudeen, the PDC Team Coordinator for the engineering department, gave a welcome address to commence off the session. Mr. Vidhyaprakash Rajendran, Lecturer/Engineering/UTAS-Nizwa is the resource person for the training session.
In this engaging and hands-on session, participants were introduced to the powerful world of Raspberry Pi as a platform for innovation and prototyping. The session began with an overview of the Raspberry Pi ecosystem, highlighting its capabilities, applications, and potential in education, research, and real-world projects.
Following the introduction, a step-by-step walkthrough on configuring and setting up the Raspberry Pi was provided, ensuring that attendees gained a clear understanding of initial system setup, hardware connections, and basic software configuration. The session concluded with a practical demonstration using an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), showcasing how the Raspberry Pi can interface with analog sensors and convert real-world signals into digital data for processing and analysis—bridging the gap between ideas and working prototypes.
The training session was highly informative and tailored to the needs of all participants.
