Entrepreneurship Exhibition Held at UTAS–North Campus

As part of its co-curricular initiatives, the Entrepreneurship lecturers and students of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) organized a three-day Entrepreneurship Exhibition from 14 to 16 December 2025 at the UTAS–North Campus, Nizwa. The event marked the 14th edition of the Entrepreneurship Exhibition conducted at UTAS–Nizwa.
The mega exhibition commenced on Sunday, 14 December 2025, and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Al Mamari, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (AVC), UTAS-Nizwa. He was joined by Mr. Hilal Al Rashdi, Director of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Dr. Faiza Al Dhali, Deputy Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (DAVCAA), UTAS–Nizwa; Dr. Saif Al Bimani from the Research and Consultancy Department; and Dr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed Obaid, Head of the College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA), along with the Entrepreneurship course team. A large number of academic and non-academic staff attended the inaugural ceremony. On the first day, 40 student groups showcased their business ideas using Business Model Canvases, prototypes, and supporting videos.
The exhibition continued on the second day with visits from Dr. Faiza Al Dhali and Dr. Saif Al Bimani, accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed Obaid, HoD–CEBA, and other officials from UTAS, along with members of the Entrepreneurship course team. A total of 38 student groups presented and explained their innovative business concepts to the visitors through Business Model Canvases, prototypes, and videos.
On the third day, the exhibition was visited by Dr. Faiza Al Dhali, DAVCAA–UTAS, Nizwa; Dr. Nasser Al Hadrami, Head of Research at UTAS; and Dr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed Obaid, HoD–CEBA, along with other officials from UTAS and external stakeholders. On this day, 36 student groups exhibited their business ideas using the same interactive and visual presentation formats.
The primary objective of the exhibition was to encourage students to develop creative business ideas while enhancing essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, negotiation, marketing, and financial management. Throughout the three days, the event witnessed a high level of enthusiasm and active participation from students, as well as strong support from both teaching and non-teaching staff.
The exhibition attracted representatives from various government, private, and academic institutions. Notable attendees included 25 female students from the University of Nizwa, staff members from the Oman Chamber of Commerce, two representatives from the Ministry of Health (the Director of the Planning Department and a Section Head), the General Manager of Bawariq International Investment Company, four representatives from the Directorate General of Education—including an Olympiad Innovation Specialist—and four representatives from the Environmental Department of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
