The Department of
Engineering at University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS-A) is
providing qualified technicians, technologists, and professionals in the
different fields of Engineering to contribute in the development of Sultanate
of Oman. It converges research and technology transfer to create new ideas and
magnificent inventions.
We have established an environment in which our faculty, staff, and students
can engage in interdisciplinary thrust areas. Our graduates can excel to hold
the best promise as future technologists and engineers!
We offer a diverse selection to the students and job market. Currently, the
Department has three main sections, namely; Mechanical and Industrial
Engineering Section, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Section, and Civil
and Architectural Engineering Section. We offer BTech level in Mechanical
Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics and Communications
Engineering and Computer Engineering. Also, we offer Diploma level in
Architectural Engineering and Quantity Surveying.
The Department of Engineering is the largest Academic Department at the College
in terms of size, faculty members and facilities. It has good and well
established labs and workshops with modern machines, equipment and other
facilities. Our faculty members have been appointed under high standards of
Academic and Industrial experience.
