The Deputy of Postgraduate Studies, Scientific Research, and Innovation plays a crucial role in shaping the University's strategic plan related to these areas. They supervise the preparation and implementation of operational plans within their divisions, ensuring the application of quality systems. They propose and issue administrative decisions in line with established rules and regulations, and oversee all affiliated divisions. This includes enforcing regulations related to postgraduate studies, scientific research, and innovation, as well as developing relevant policies. The Deputy works to create an integrated environment for research and innovation, aligning these fields with national priorities to produce high-quality, globally recognized research outputs. They review recommendations from the Vice Chancellor's assistants and deans, fostering relationships with research institutions and economic sectors both internally and externally. Additionally, they supervise the diversification of funding resources for scientific research to ensure sustainability and achieve the University's strategic goals. The Deputy also develops entrepreneurship activities, oversees the establishment of business centers, and sets necessary budgets. They aim to enhance the University's contribution to the domestic product and improve Oman's global ranking. An annual report on the progress of affiliated divisions is submitted to the Vice Chancellor. The Deputy also supervises consultancy activities, forms committees related to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and performs any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor within their competence.
