The MBA in Leadership and Innovation has been designed to provide students with a variety of skills including critical and integrative analytical, innovative thinking in decision-making, and essential organizational and communication skills enabling them to prosper and innovate in any leadership role in various sectors: public, private and own business.

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

 

  1.  Apply various methods, models, frameworks, and competencies for leading individuals, managing organizational change, and strategic management, through their acquired leadership and innovation skills.
  2.  Implement strategies to communicate and negotiate effectively in multicultural environments, showcasing leadership qualities essential for leading diverse teams.
  3.  Apply research methods and data analytics to make informed and evidence-based decisions.
  4.  Develop innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to business problems showing knowledge of sustainable business models and practices.
  5.  Apply acquired knowledge related to leadership and innovation to criticality solve real-world problems and challenges.

 

  1.  A bachelor's degree with 2.5 GPA (or its equivalent) in Business and Management field. Other fields can be considered with bridging courses.
  2.  Applicants with less than 2.5 GPA can be considered if they have relevant work experience minimum of 2 years.
  3.  Updated resume/CV.
  4.  Two recommendation letters from professional or academic contacts may be required as part of the application process.
  5.  A personal statement or essay outlining career goals and why the applicant is a good fit for the program (optional).
  6.  English language proficiency, demonstrated through IELTS of 6 or equivalent. The student is exempted from this condition (language requirement) if his/her study at the university level was in the English language.
  7.  An interview with program faculty or admissions staff may be required as part of the application process.
  8.  Applicants who work in Oman must bring a letter of approval from their employers.

The Financial Value Creation for Leaders course is designed to provide executives, business leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge necessary to create financial value within their organizations. The course adopts a blended learning approach that combines lectures, case studies, and group discussions to teach participants how to analyse financial statements, evaluate investment opportunities, and make strategic financial decisions. The course covers eight themes that include Introduction to Financial Value Creation, Financial Statement Analysis, Capital Budgeting and Investment Analysis, Financing and Capital Structure, Creating Shareholder Value, Financial Risk Management, Financial Leadership, and Case Studies and Applications. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to demonstrate financial leadership skills, identify and manage financial risks, and align financial goals with organizational strategy.

 

The course aims to introduce theories, approaches of organizational change, systematic diagnosis of organizational change requirements and ways to lead all stakeholders successfully through change. It aims to enhance the competencies of learners in strategizing, transforming, and building successful business organizations.

This course aims to weave the principles and praxes of effective Communication and Negotiation in contemporary work settings. It provides aspiring, budding, and senior professionals pragmatic and real-world educational experiences, analytical frames, and logical analyses on how leaders and innovators can become knowledgeable and skillful communicators and negotiators. It also trains postgraduate students to fortify their ethical resilience and moral standards in communication and negotiation dynamics. The course equips the students with industry-tailored curriculum, learner-centered pedagoy, and problem-based teaching-learning processes that center on Communication and Negotiation in today’s dynamic world.

 

The course introduces data-driven decision-making for organizational leaders. It is about various analytical descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytical techniques and covers both quantitative and qualitative aspects. The aim is to enable individuals including those with no prior analytics experience to get better data insights and make informed managerial decisions in various management domains. The course also covers digital transformation in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its related concepts such as Artificial Intelligence and its applications in the organizational context. In sum, students of the course will develop basic data literacy and an analytics mindset that will aid in making strategic evidence-based decisions.

This course aims to raise the understanding level about sustainability, which has become one of the major concerns in this fast-changing world. It is about creating a vibrant, challenging and enduring social and biophysical world, not only for the present but also for the future generations. This course will first present the big picture about innovation for sustainability. Next phase is to learn strategy and leadership role for a transition towards sustainability. Measurement and assessment of sustainable innovation is the next step which ultimately leads to understanding tools, methods and technologies to implement sustainability-oriented responsible innovation.

 

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to undertake business-related research. It also seeks to give students an understanding of the many research approaches and methods that can be used to address issues in business. Topics including study design, data collection and analysis, hypothesis testing, sample techniques, and ethical issues in research are frequently covered in the research methodology module. The course also emphasizes how to understand and analyze data using a variety of software tools. The aim of this course is to guide students in acquiring the analytical and critical thinking abilities required for undertaking business-related research. Students should be able to plan and carry out research projects, analyze data, and interpret findings after completing the course content.

The project is comprehensive and involves various stages, including problem identification, research, analysis, and solution development. The following elements are included in the project: Introduction: Provide an overview of the problem or challenge, including its significance and relevance to the program's objectives. Problem Identification: Clearly define the problem or challenge and its scope. Identify the stakeholders and their concerns. Literature Review: Conduct a review of the relevant literature related to the problem or challenge. This includes research on leadership and innovation theories, best practices, and case studies. Research Methodology: Identify the research design and methodology to be used in the project. This may include surveys, interviews, case studies, and other data collection methods. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data to support the project's objectives. This may involve qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis. Solution Development: Develop a solution or set of recommendations to address the problem or challenge identified in the project. Conclusion: Summarize the findings of the project, including the solution or recommendations. Implementation Plan: Develop an implementation plan for the solution or recommendations, including timelines and resources required.
