Seminar on Effective Study skills and Time Management
On November 13, 2024, the Student Development Team, College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA) hosted a seminar titled "Effective Study skills and Time Management" aimed at helping students enhance their academic performance and manage their time more efficiently.
Dr. Rathna Chellappa welcomed attendees, stressing that learning is about consistency and understanding, not speed. She emphasized that effective study skills and time management require practice and reflection, and with the right mindset, even students at academic risk can succeed and reduce stress.
The seminar, led by Dr. Hanaa Sid Ahmed, focused on key topics such as the importance of study habits, time management, identifying learning styles, and overcoming procrastination. The session was divided into three parts: Study Habits, where Dr. Hanaa introduced techniques like active learning and spaced repetition; Time Management, with strategies for planning and meeting deadlines; and a Q&A Session, where students addressed personal challenges.
By the end of the seminar, students gained practical tools to develop effective study habits, apply time management techniques, create balanced schedules, and use technology to streamline their study processes. Dr. Rathna concluded the session by acknowledging the contributions of Dr. Hanaa, Mr. Ricardo, and Mr. Praveeth, whose efforts were instrumental in making the seminar a success.
