IT Department of CCIS, UTAS-Salalah Students Empower Dhofar High School Students for Competitive Programming Competition

In a collaborative effort to foster knowledge-sharing and skill development, five students from IT Department of CCIS, UTAS-Salalah recently visited Dhofar High School - Al Saadha to provide training to over 20 high school students in preparation for an upcoming Competitive Programming competition which will be conducted during the IT Festival 2024.

The training session, held on March 6, 7 and 10, 2024, aimed to equip high school students with essential programming skills and problem-solving techniques necessary for excelling in competitive programming competitions. Led by our students, the training covered a range of topics, including algorithmic strategies, basic and advanced Python programming concepts, data structures, and efficient coding practices.

Students, who are seasoned competitors themselves, shared their expertise and insights gained from participating in various programming competitions. Through interactive workshops and hands-on exercises, they guided the high school students in understanding complex algorithms and honing their coding abilities.

This initiative not only provided valuable training to the high school students but also fostered a spirit of collaboration and mentorship within the local programming community. It showcased the commitment of both university and high school students to support and empower each other in their pursuit of excellence in computer science and programming.

The event concluded with words of encouragement and appreciation from both the university and high school students, highlighting the positive impact of such collaborative efforts in promoting academic excellence and fostering a culture of learning.
