Inter-UTAS University Challenge 2024 – Quiz Competition Conducted by ACCA at UTAS-Muscat Branch, Muscat

On December 4, 2024, the College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA) at UTAS-Muscat Branch hosted an International Accounting Day event under the theme “Sustainability and Employability.” The event, held in collaboration with ACCA, took place at the UTAS-Muscat Auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Each UTAS branch was invited to field a team of four to five students for the ACCA University Challenge 2024. CEBA at UTAS-Salalah participated with a team of three students, accompanied by staff member Mr. Pavan Kumar. The participating students were Mr. Salim Abdullah Salim Ba Omar, Mr. Said Salim Musallam Shamas, and Mr. Osamah Ramas Musallam Al Amri.

 

The UTAS-Salalah team demonstrated exceptional dedication and perseverance, securing Third Place in the Inter-UTAS University Challenge Quiz Competition organized by ACCA. Their commendable performance left a lasting impact, serving as an inspiration for the entire CEBA student community in Salalah.

 

The quiz competition was conducted in three challenging rounds before a live audience at the auditorium. The first round involved answering 30 multiple-choice questions online within 20 minutes. The second round consisted of 15 matching questions completed offline in 10 minutes. The final round featured 30 rapid-fire questions, each displayed for only 10 seconds. Despite the intense competition, the UTAS-Salalah team maintained their momentum throughout all three rounds, ultimately achieving an impressive third-place finish.

 

The experience was both memorable and motivational, fostering a spirit of academic excellence and competitive enthusiasm among the CEBA students at UTAS-Salalah.
