Business Department Students' Educational Visit to an Investment Firm, United Securities LLC.

A group of around 25 students from business studies specialization embarked on an educational visit to an Investment firm ‘United Securities LLC.’ gaining practical insights into the financial world on 14th December 2023, between 10.00 AM – 11.30 AM. The students were accompanied and supervised by Hassan Sanadi & Mohammed Younus, lecturers of Business studies department.

On arrival to United Securities LLC., the students were given a tour of the various departments and their functionalities by team of professionals that included . Thereafter they were been assembled in the meeting hall wherein several presentations were been made by the heads of various department, namely the research and analysis, fund management, and compliance team. Prominent speakers were Mr. Joice Mathew, Mr.Siju Philip, Mr. Abu Zahaar, Ms. Tara Bassit, Ms. Ghadeer Hassan and Ms. Shaheen Biran. The session was concluded with a short quiz and Q&A session.

Overall the students were deeply engaged into numerous session that allowed them to relate their field of study with real environment. It was a very engaging visit which allowed them to interact with industry professionals who provided invaluable knowledge. The visit also deepened the students understanding of stock trading, mutual fund management and market dynamics. The visit also emphasized risk management and resilience, teaching the students the importance of informed decision-making. Reflecting on the experience, many students expressed transformed perceptions of finance and a newfound interest in pursuing related careers. The trip very well bridged the gap between theory and practice, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. Ultimately, the visit highlighted the significance of real-world experiences in shaping students' educational journeys and career paths.
