Preparatory Studies Centre - Improving Speaking skill

Ms. Ruqaya Al Salehi held a workshop at the Preparatory Studies Centre MPH on November 6, 2023, on Tips and Advice on Improving Speaking. The workshop aimed to equip participants with strategies and techniques to speak English confidently. The participants were initially confronted with various obstacles that hindered their ability to effectively speak English, such as fear of making mistakes, low self-esteem, and a limited vocabulary. Following this, effective strategies and supportive suggestions were shared to overcome these barriers, including ways to improve speaking skills and enhance self-confidence. Ms. Ruqaya Al Salehi also advised them to be consistent in their efforts, practice regularly, and embrace opportunities to speak in public to gradually improve and develop their skills.

The workshop concluded with participants’ opinions on the most effective way that they may apply directly after the workshop. All participants found this workshop insightful and useful. By addressing common barriers to effective communication and providing practical techniques, attendees left the workshop equipped with newfound confidence and the skills to speak with clarity and confidence. It is undoubtedly true that continued practice and implementation of the strategies discussed will enhance their ability to speak effectively.
