Semester 1

This course focuses on unleashing the hidden artistic abilities of students to generate conceptual ideas transformed into reality. Developing an Idea that leads to space and Interior object experimentation within a space. Also by discovering the possibilities while implementing this idea in space. As a result, this artistic, wild, intelligent, crazy, futuristic idea will generate studies of possibilities of composition in relation to other space factors light, color and human.

This course is about principles of geometric drawings and Exploration of the fundamentals and concepts of organizing Forms, Mass and Volume in three-dimension, exploring contemporary design solutions concerning narrative aspects, space and geometry.

This course concerns the representation of built space or products using an appropriate technical drawing and vocabulary. The Architectural Drawing course acts like a backbone for the studio work, it must enable students to express and communicate their designs through a coherent technical language that meets international standards.

This course introduces advanced CAD software to the Interior Design major students, in order to develop and enhance their two-dimensional and three-dimensional digital drawing skills. The acquired CAD skills will integrate the students’ digital drawing knowledge with other areas of study, since the CAD will act as a key tool in executing most of the interior design projects.

Semester 2

This course concentrates on the conceptual and design development phases for a residential project, providing an understanding of the elements of interior design and architecture, and how to use them to identify the space constraints and solve the interior architectural problems. It also provides the students with standard dimensions of the interior design elements based on ergonomic and anthropometric studies. These are intended to extend students’ creativity and conceptual grasp of design by consideration of issues such as design functionality, motion and time study, and methods of problem solving for a human-environment interface.

This course aims to provide the student of Interior Design with a knowledge on various developments in Interior design through ages, Its connection to different periods and cultures, and its integral relationship with architecture and decorative arts. The course covers a period of some 6,000 years, spanning Prehistory to the initial phase of the Industrial Revolution (ca.1900). While the geographical emphasis is European and American, the course also includes design practices and traditions of non-Western cultures, such as Middle Eastern and Asian.

Teaching building information modeling (BIM) software. Revit software is currently the most popular solution for building information modeling. Building information modeling, or BIM, is a collaborative process where engineers, architects, Interior designers, contractors, manufacturers, developers, and other construction professionals join forces to make sure the planning, design, and construction of a building is on track. BIM is also used by governments, municipalities, and other organizations to make smarter planning decisions before building construction has begun.

Semester 1

This course provides students with an understanding of the process, elements and components used in the creation and enhancement of human activity in the interior Public environments. Emphasis is placed on real Public projects with clients, advisers and consultants while allowing students to work in elective commercial, public projects. The course has three major elements which provide students with a range of distinct but complementary design experiences. The first element introduces external environments that influence the internal organization of space; orientation, aspect, topography, access and climate. In this phase, the students will be introduced to the elements of commercial façade design. The Second element focuses on and introduces students to the study of human factors in public interior spaces (i.e. commercial spaces, hospitals, restaurants, etc.)

This course covers the technical applied section in the Interior Design process, through which the students will explore the various treatments for the different interior surfaces, and how to select the most suitable materials that fulfills the design functions and aesthetics, accordingly a wide range of both natural and synthetic interior design materials will be covered within this course, as well as the technical methods of applying and installing the studied materials. Students will prepare a range of technical drawings in different interior treatment topics, as well as sample boards for selected interior materials, which will reflect their understanding of this course.

This course provides fundamental knowledge and understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems in buildings & their implementation in interior design.

In this course we teach Rhino Software a powerful tool that can be used to generate complicated curvilinear forms, and respond well to geometric constraints and inputs. Rhino is used by interior designers in furniture design and lighting design. It enables students to utilize tools and methods to enhance their ability to explore, experiment, and represent in 3D. Understand the basic format and layout of the program and know its limitations. Learning 3D modeling of interior spaces and furniture modeling will help students to discover & create innovative Parametric, Blobitecture & Digital Morphogenesis Designs.
