The Fashion Design Program in UTAS aims to provide students with a high-quality fashion education according to the global job requirements, local market needs and adapted to the local social norms. To help students learn and practice skills that are necessary for graduates to be able to integrate in the professional industry. To create a bridge between the young entrepreneurs and local fashion industry professionals and be involved in professional integration of our students and graduates.

By completion of the program graduates will be able to:
- Closely monitor the production calendar to meet the deadlines for the apparel company, before fashion shows, previews of new collections and new stores openings. Work closely with the members of the design, product development, sales and planning teams, ensuring all tasks are completed by scheduled deadlines.
- Create fashion illustrations such as product sketches, technical drawings, and other works of art related to fashion industry using drawing and digital skills for newspapers, fashion magazines, apparel companies and designers.
- Select templates that are used to produce basic clothing products and translate design models into patterns using flat drawing technique. Using freehand measurement technique create basic draping elements and products in line with the design.
- Create unique looks for VIP personas and people who are interested in reflecting a suitable fashion image such as TV presenters, actors and executives, from head to toe by selecting trending outfits, maintain a professional relationship with apparel companies and designers by establishing a fashion network.
- Create digital artworks related to fashion such as posters, mood-boards, story boards, and media publications. Create fashion content that is attractive to the audience.
- Create patterns of clothing products, using flat drawing, and draping techniques.
- Monitor fittings, make sure the product, assembly, outfit is well executed and in line with the measures, conduct further alterations of the product. Follow up with the machinist and handworkers and generate production folder.
Theoretical exam: basic knowledge of subject matter is required; Interview: assessment of student’s passion for subject matter; Completion of the Foundation Program. :
