Understanding Research-Based vs Project-Based Theses

On 2nd November 2025, Dr. Sk Wasim Haidar, MSc Program Coordinator and Head of the IS Unit, conducted an informative session on the key differences between research-based and project-based theses.

Dr. Wasim explained that research-based theses generate new knowledge through systematic investigation, while project-based theses focus on creating practical solutions to real-world problems.

15 Master’s students attended the session, gaining valuable insights on proposal preparation, methodology, and thesis evaluation. The session was highly appreciated for its clarity and practical relevance.
