Business Club and SDT Host Green Initiative Awareness Session

On December 17, 2024, the Business Club, in collaboration with the Student Development Team (SDT) of CEBA-UTAS-Salalah, hosted an online Awareness Session on the Green Initiative via MS Teams. The initiative seeks to unite students, faculty, and the community to promote sustainable practices and make a meaningful impact on society.

The session began with an introduction by Dr. Rathna Chellappa, SDT Chair, who highlighted the importance of fostering individual social responsibility, particularly in addressing environmental issues. Mr. Mohammed Al Balushi, President of the Business Club, presented the initiative’s core objectives, focusing on reducing campus waste by collecting recyclable and reusable items. These items will be repurposed, sold, or donated, with proceeds directed to charitable organizations supporting environmental and social causes.

Ms. Larissa Santos, a faculty member of CEBA-Salalah, discussed the practical application of the 3RsReuse, Reduce, and Recycle—emphasizing their relevance in the business environment and the need to inspire others to adopt environmentally conscious practices.

The session concluded with an open forum where attendees shared suggestions and recommendations. Dr. Neil Raymond, Business Club Advisor, noted that this awareness session is just the beginning, with plans for additional workshops and activities in the coming semester to further advance the goals of the Green Initiative.
