As part of its efforts to support academic excellence and research skills, the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Salalah organized a workshop titled "Writing an Effective Abstract" for final-year students engaged in research projects.

The session was delivered by Ms. Muna Al Shahri, who guided students through the essential components of a well-crafted abstract, including the background, research objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusions. She also provided comparisons between weak and strong abstracts, using real examples and offering practical tips to enhance clarity and impact.

Designed to equip graduating students with the tools necessary for academic writing and conference submissions, the workshop emphasized how a strong abstract can significantly improve the visibility and credibility of their research.

This session is part of a series of academic support initiatives by the department aimed at preparing students for effective research presentations and future professional development.
