Pharmacy program review and development at UTAS

A workshop was held on Monday, May 29th, at the Pharmacy Department in the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat, as part of the pharmacy program review and development. The workshop was attended by more than 20 stakeholders from various pharmacy sectors: Ministry of Health, governmental non-MoH hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, community and retail pharmacy, Pharmacy society and academic sector. The aim of the workshop is to involve the key stakeholders in reviewing the new pharmacy program and provide feedback on the proposed study plan of BSc in Pharmacy. A group discussion and feedback session were conducted to collect different sectors views and recommendation to strength the program and close the gap between the academic education and market expectation. The meeting also identified opportunities for future collaboration between pharmacy department and the industry to support the delivery of the program and enhance the experiential training. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Khalid Al Abri - Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and facilitated by Dr. Muna Al-Juma and her team.
