Business Studies Department: Site Visits to Darwish Polycon LLC And AlAdrak Trading and Contracting Co. LLC

The Business Studies Department, Human Resources Management section organized a two site visits to ‘Darwish Polycon LLC’ (Rusayl Industrial Area) and ‘AlAdrak Trading and Contracting Co. LLC’ (Airport heights construction area), under the supervision of Dr. Faiza Awladthani and Mr. Khalifa Al Falahi (our branch Health and Safety Officer) on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. The visit was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health. 

Sites Visits Overview: The visits drew participation from 42 students enrolled in the Occupational Health and Safety course (BSHR4101), all of whom actively engaged with the content presented. The visits purpose was to learn about the reality of applying inspection process at different work sites.  It is also to learn how to identify hazards, associated risks and risk control measures.  

Acknowledgments: Our sincere gratitude goes to all of the Health and Safety Officers from both companies for sharing their expertise how to inspect hazards at workplace.  Special thanks to Eng. Zakriya Khamis Al Saadi (First Deputy Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health), and for the following industrial Safety Engineers: Eng. Muhana Al Al Hadidi, Eng. Yousuf Al Abdul Salam, Eng. Rashad Al Humaidi, for their invaluable support in ensuring the success of the two site visits. 

Conclusion: The visits successfully achieved its objective of providing practical exercises into inspecting hazards and associated risks at workplace. We extend our appreciation to the resource persons for their contributions and look forward to more collaborative learning opportunities in the future.
