The Event

The Applied Chemistry Section celebrated its 1st Chemistry Open Day with the theme “Chemistry Reached 118” highlighting the Applied Chemistry Program, achievements of the section, introducing the world of chemistry, virtual reality experiments, projects, and promoting students’ skills and talents in both science and art and awareness about Oman vision 2040 themes.

احتفلت شعبة الكيمياء التطبيقية بقسم العلوم التطبيقية بيومها الأول المفتوح للكيمياء بموضوع «الكيمياء وصلت ١١٨" وسلط الضوء على برنامج الكيمياء التطبيقية، وإنجازات القسم،و التعريف بعالم الكيمياء، وتجارب العالم الافتراضي والمشاريع وتعزيز مهارات الطلاب ومواهبهم في كل من العلوم والفنون والتعريف بمحاور برؤية عمان ٢٠٤٠ .

The Poster-Making Contest ‘’Oman vision 2040 themes’’

Students specializing in Applied Chemistry expressed their concepts and ideas through art by creating posters depicting Oman vision 2040 themes such as watewater treatment and application, sustainable energy, water treatment and security, food nutrition and health, medicinal and pharmaceutical industries, and environment, pollution and zero carbon emission.

عبر الطلاب المتخصصون في الكيمياء التطبيقية عن مفاهيمهم وأفكارهم من خلال خلال عمل ملصقات تصورمحاور رؤية عمان 2040 مثل معالجة المياه الملوثة واستخداماتها، والطاقة المستدامة، ومعالجة المياه وأمنها، والأمن الغذائي والصحة، والصناعات الطبية والصيدلانية والبيئة والتلوث وانبعاثات الكربون والحياد الصفري.

Chemistry Fun Experiments corner

Selected chemistry students demonstrated their skills in simple funny experiments and explained the principles behind the outcomes of those experiments where the viewers enjoyed every minute of their presentation and piqued their curiosity in the subject.

أظهر طلاب كيمياء مختارون مهاراتهم في تجارب مضحكة بسيطة وشرحوا المبادئ الكامنة وراء نتائج تلك التجارب حيث استمتع المشاهدون بكل دقيقة من عرضهم وأثاروا فضولهم في الموضوع.

UTS Applied Chemistry graduates featured

Selected graduates were featured during the event, emphasizing their accomplishments, their college life experiences and their advices to the students of new generation.

The first ChemQUIZtry Contest

ChemQUIZtry Contest was launched during the 1st Chemistry Open Day where group of students competed and showed their knowledge of elements in the periodic table.

The Final Year Poster Project Competition

Students shared the results of their hardwork through the posters depicting methodologies, data and conclusion of their scientific researches.

شارك الطلاب السنة الأخيرة نتائج عملهم الجاد في مشاريع تخرجهم من خلال الملصقات التي تصور المنهجيات والبيانات واستنتاجاتهم وخاتمة أبحاثهم العلمية.

Applied Chemistry Staff Competition

The competition for staff lasted for a week where the groups were given questions they need to answer and the top performing groups are to compete during the event. The last question involved word search where they need to look for most of the elements’ names.
