UTAS IBRA IEEE STUDENT BRANCH IEEE MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN FOR AY 2023-2024

UTAS-Ibra IEEE Student Branch organized a Campaign on IEEE Membership on April 30th, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM near the Open area in the admin building and participated by 27 participants.

This event aimed to introduce the benefits a student can obtain by acquiring an IEEE student membership.

Mr. Sulaiman Saif Aamir Al-Jahdhami IEEE UTAS-Ibra Student Branch Chair, Mr. Ahmed Amur Alharthi IEEE Student branch co-chair, our esteemed speaker, elaborated on the numerous benefits of acquiring a student membership in IEEE. He emphasized the access to journals, magazines, e-books, and research articles, the importance of Professional Networking, and the additional perks such as a career asset manager, resume lab, educational grants, and various competitions. These benefits are designed to support and enhance your skills and academic interests in an Engineering career.

He also explained the MGM (Member Get a member) scheme, in which a member can earn a good amount of money during the membership year. IEEE Student Members can also join IEEE Communities like Smart Cities, Big Data, Smart Grid, IoT, etc., for free. Also, Students who join IEEE communities can get free access to Webinars and publications.

Mr. Sulaiman also shared information on the IEEE Oman section and the external and internal events organized by UTAS-Ibra during AY 2022-2023. He also mentioned the IEEE-Ibra achievements in the Student Young Professional (SYP - 2023) Congress for Region 8. It indeed shows the active participation and enthusiasm of UTAS IEEE-Ibra in many activities on the national level.
