Specialization Orientation Report
College of Economics and Business Administration (CEBA)
The College of Economics and Business Administration on April 21st 2025 organized a specialization orientation program aimed at raising awareness about the various specializations available in the UTAS and their prospective career paths. This initiative is designed to assist students in making informed decisions regarding their academic pursuits. 65 students of Diploma I participated in the event. The event was facilitated by key resource persons: Mr. Abdullah Thanseer, Mr. Nawaz Khan.M, Mrs. Muzna AL-Maqbali and Mrs. Tharaya Al Harthi.
Mrs. Muzna AL-Maqbali and Mrs. Tharaya Al Harthi also explored the realm of Human Resource Management (HRM), discussing its employment potential and the competencies required for success in this specialization. They further highlighted opportunities for advanced studies in HRM, which is crucial because it allows students to deepen their expertise and enhance their career prospects.
Mr. Abdullah Thanseer, emphasized the significance of choosing Marketing as a specialization, illustrating how students can cultivate essential skills and access numerous career opportunities in this domain.
Mr. Nawaz Khan concentrated on the career opportunities within accounting, the crucial skills needed for the profession and the variety of job roles accessible in the accounting field. He also elaborated on the criteria and procedure for choosing a specialization.
Ms. Hafsha Al Falahi, a senior student who specializes in Accounting, shared her own experience regarding the selection of specialization. She explained how she cultivated the essential skills to thrive in her domain.
Dr Ananth Anthonisamy explained the CGPA required for each specialization, also he spoke about the Supply Chain and Logistic and Tourism and Hospitality specialization which are currently not offered in the department, but the students can choose based on their interest.
